Handwritten accounts? A thing of the past.

It’s still possible to keep your own business accounts the “old fashioned” way.  It’s a rarity, but if you wish to write out your income and expense statements by hand, you’ll no doubt still find an Accountant with whom you can do business!  If you’re running a small business and you keep hand-written accounts, there is no obligation to use business accounting software.  However, the advantages of using a computer software system are that you can link to online banking services so that your banking information is automatically incorporated. 

Another reason why Business Accounting Software is a good idea is that you can use it to produce your VAT Returns and print address slips/envelopes for your creditors and debtors.  It’s a logical choice.  Most small businesses use computers, so why not extend this usage to your Business accounts.

Finding the right Business accounting software to meet your needs might be easier than you think – and cheaper too.  You’ll find some of the following well-known High Street names will offer user friendly Accounting Spreadsheets for the self-employed, self-employed who wish to add in integrated payroll software and a range of sole trader software.

Pop into PC World or research some of these names online – Sage Accounts and Bookkeepers, Sage Accounts Production, Kashflow (especially for small businesses) and QuickBooks.  There’s also Cash Bus, Clearbooks and MyBusiness – an award winning business accounting software package that comes highly recommended. Most of these packages offer the ability to log in and check out all client accounts in real time. There’s no chance of overwriting data or transferring backups.  The choice is yours, but why not get digital?
